Summer = weddings and Fall = families...

Fall is here already and with that, the beginning of family sessions. My first of the season was a fun little family who had a lot of spunk and a little one year old with the best hair EVER! We chose a nice location in Fish Creek Park for this photo shoot- vibrant colours and plenty of space for little, one year old Kasyn to explore...

Graham & Erin Okotoks Wedding...

This has to be hands down one of the funniest groups I've ever shot. 

It's rare that you meet a bunch of friends who have been through all of life's pivotal moments and this group has. They've all known each other since elementary school and relate in such an intimate way that as a photographer, it was glorious to witness.

Erin & Graham- you two are truly a union that many would envy...the respect, awe and love that you share is infectious. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day and I wish you both all the love & blessings that a marriage brings.

Family session- Confederation Park

I had a lot of fun shooting this session with Laura and her family. She and I met a few months ago when I picked up a part time line on the orthopaedic unit. She's one of the most vivacious, charismatic  personalities that I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Really, she just lights up a room and so of course I was excited at the prospect of doing her family photos!!

And it wasn't just a regular session, these images are a special gift for her Grandmothers birthday. She, along with her 2 cousins wanted to give their Grandma a meaningful present this year, and so they decided that they would hire a professional to capture some images of their gorgeous children. We had a little extra time so I threw in a few other combinations as well...

Camping Kidz...

I love summertime. Everything about it. Sunny days, lazy afternoons, bike rides, lake time, late dinners,  and zero schedules.

But more than anything my family looks forward to our yearly trips to Yahk, B.C, to my brothers cabin and everything that comes with it.

This year was no exception- the weather was perfect and the kids got to really be 'kidz.' NO internet connections, NO restrictions on where & how their outdoor imaginations could take them.

Just good old family time, campfires at night to roast hotdogs & smores, beautiful lakes where they could test their courage and jump from some high rocks, many many bike rides and quading trips.

Although this blog is primarily for work purposes...I wanted to share some of my favourite people.

Jessica & Sean E-session

It's shaping up to be a great summer! Beautiful weather, lazy mornings and a few upcoming weddings with some fabulous couples.

Jessica and Sean found me through Edward Ross Photography- in fact he just shot her good friends wedding in Mexico. Lucky bum.

Although we live in different cities, and we've been communicating through emails & phone calls and have only met once for their engagement photoshoot, I just KNOW it's going to be a special kind of wedding. 

Jessica's laugh and sense of humour is infectious and although it took a little bit of prodding and teasing, Sean definitely came out of his 'shell' throughout our session.

Looking forward to your upcoming wedding & celebration in Edmonton guys!!

Vanessa & Christian...

Vanessa and I met a few months ago when I picked up a part time job at the foothills hospital, orthopaedic unit. It isn't often that I run into another 'Vanessa' so if that wasn't enough to get us chatting, I soon found out that she was also a photographer & very passionate about her work as well. 

I was absolutely thrilled  when she asked me if I would shoot her wedding....it isn't often that you get to work with someone so creative and who totally understands the in's and out's of what works and what doesn't...so to speak.

The wedding itself was a beautiful, intimate event with very close friends and family in attendance. Although I have only known the couple for a short period of time, there is no doubt in my mind, after hearing all the beautiful remarks from their family and friends that these two have something very rare and special.

Congratulations you two, I hope theses images allow others to get a taste of the many dynamics that you two share.
